What is Freedom Church’s Kids Ministry?
Freedom Kids is the enriching children’s ministry at Freedom Church. It has been designed to teach the love of Jesus to children in a safe, fun, and engaging way. Our Kids church has different set-ups for different age groups, serving children from 8 months of age to 18 years. This allows us to take an age-appropriate approach to teaching the principles of the Bible to help our children follow Jesus.

What Freedom Kids looks like on Sunday
We love our children and prioritise investing our time and resources into them, and anyone who walks through our doors knows how championed and supported both children and parents feel.
Lovingly dubbed ‘kids church’ by the youngest members of our church, on Sunday, our volunteers greet parents and children, and you will be directed to the correct age group for your child. Our volunteers work tirelessly to get to know your child’s rhythms and routines so you can enjoy our service safely in the knowledge that your children are looked after.

Children are organised into five age groups, and all discipleship is tailored specifically and age-appropriately for each group:
-
Baby Cubs Ages 4 months - 2 years
-
Cubs Ages 2 - 4
-
Adventurers Ages 5 - 7
-
Wave Ages 7 -1 1
-
Zeal Ages 11 - 18. Please see our page on Freedom Church’s youth ministry for more information about Zeal
Our approach to children’s ministry
Our vision is to make Freedom Kids fun! We are passionate that children know about the love, kindness, and teaching of Jesus. We write and use material that makes understanding and learning the Bible understandable for children in a way that is relevant to their lives. Our priority is that every child who walks through our doors is welcomed warmly, included and equipped to pursue a personal relationship with Jesus. This may include singing songs, playing games or participating in craft activities. We believe in the power of community and we model and teach this to children of all ages.
Every child that walks through our doors is precious to us at Freedom Church, and because of this, we have safeguarding policies in place to protect the children that are in our care. This includes adhering to correct adult-child ratios, relevant background checks for our staff and training for volunteers. Safety is a huge priority for the Freedom Kids team and we are constantly reviewing our procedures and ensuring that each individual child is treasured.

Children’s ministry beyond Sunday
To support the children in our community past Sunday mornings, we organise and host many child-focused events throughout the year. In 2023, we hosted events such as an Easter Egg Hunt that included assault courses, face painting and crafty bits and an October Glow Party that hosted 85 children from across the community who came to celebrate the light.
You can hear about any upcoming events for your children here.
